Tuesday Morning

by Charles Morgan

Momentum slips
into the first
cigarette, which
eats away life.
Water within its
Various utilities
eats away the
haze. Refractive
pause: 6:12 a.m.
and the ego eats
away the Superego:
supporting the
self. Grapefruit,
bran, an insert
of Dutch Mocha --
Now eating away
the hour.
