Holding On

I’m holding on as tight as I can,
But the rope is going to break.
My heart is really getting sore,
my hands are starting to ache.
I've held on for way too long,
just to make you oh so happy.
But the happiness is wearing off,
and you have been more snappy.
You have forgotten who I am to you,
or you honestly just don’t care.
The way you always lash out at me,
it’s getting hard to bear.
My patience is wearing thin,
as is the rope i’m hanging on.
You make a big deal when i’m upset,
but seriously? Come on.
You know how you’re making me feel,
You know i’m going to fall.
You either need to grow up,
or you’re going to lose it all.
You’re going to lose all you had with me,
or at least what you allowed.
All I try is to make you happy,
I just wanted you to be proud.
But obviously i’m not good enough,
and you will eventually see.
That i’m really tired of holding on,
And you’re finally going to lose me.

ABOUT THE POET ~
I like to write, but it's not always good. I write to keep my mind off the catastrophes in the world, and to keep my depression from showing. But I enjoy sharing my thoughts with people. Hope you like them all.
