Mothers and Fathers of Poems

by Louis Marvin

what rituals

brothers and sisters of the realm

what ideas to this noble round table

where the greats and others with similar words

have stood, with the birthing pains in their creative loins

in each instance, you wonder what will it do?
how will it survive?

what will it give to the world?

and you say to it
like so many mothers and fathers

have said to their children,

"just be happy my little poem, and make them smile more than you
make them cry"

ABOUT THE POET ~
writing as Louis Marvin since 1989, island is the muse, with Chinese girls and Hawaiian culture thrown into a pot of saguaro fired coyote dropping from the deserts of Arizona and Barstow
