Graffiti

Atul Chandra Sarkar

When you left me,
I was confounded,
What to do or not, so,
I doodled your name
In different fonts:
Quirky, funky, groovy,
Joined-up, looped, running,
Straights, curls, floral,
Hairline, slim, trim,
Bold, thick, vintage,
Geometric, stenciled;
Happy and slain emoticons,
In a variety of black and grey;
However, what surprised me,
Was the unconscious,
Passage of lonely hours,
And my scrap book,
Fluttering blank pages;
I introverted and discovered,
A lovelorn heart,
In a half-covered shroud,
Stained by bleeding graffiti.
