Relationship

Atul Chandra Sarkar

For you it might have been,
A time-pass, but for me:
It was a Relationship;
Still it is with me,
Deep in there, where,
Sunlight cannot get in,
In the dark whorls,
Of my consciousness,
Intertwined with my Being;
I cannot untangle it,
I cannot overlook it,
I simply cannot forget it,
I cannot amputate my limb;
Never did I ever imagine that,
There was such a ‘ship’ too,
Which does not sail on ocean,
But, rides human emotion;
How easy it was for you,
To have forgotten me so quickly,
How tough it is for me,
To ignore you even momentarily;
The bridge of our relationship,
Hangs without a shore,
At times, I am disheartened,
I can’t handle it any more.
