The Lost List

by Drora Matlofsky

I lost my 'to do' list.
Dr Freud said I did it on purpose.
(- Did not!)
He says I can't stand a scruffy piece of paper
Forever reminding me to do
What I am trying to forget.

All right,
I looked for it,
Looked and looked.
Out of despair
I flipped though my manuscripts
And there it was
Standing guard over what I really want to do.

Dr Freud said I don't really want to write.
(- Do too!)
