What If

by Drora Matlofsky

What will I do
If, as years go by,
My writing gets worse
Instead of better?

What if the Powers That Be
Turn up their noses :
No good, no good?

Shall I spend my days
Knitting sweaters
No one will wear
And inventing recipes
No one will taste?

I think
I'll keep writing poems
No one will read.
