A Faery's Lament

by Ysabelle Moriarty

I’m a faery who’s lost
I can’t find my wings.
In this glen I’ve been tossed,
But in moonlight I sing.
Freedom stolen,
Bound to this fate.
My sky has been taken,
But I do not hate
The one who cast me
Among tree roots and streams,
And the emerald beauty
This Earth of mortal dreams.
My heart tore to lose a faery’s freedom of flight.
But for the new love I’ve discovered I’ll sing through endless night.
