Your One Little Smile

Atul Chandra Sarkar

Your one little smile
Gave me joy,
Your one warm touch
Made me coy,
Your one small word
Made me rise,
Your one small praise
Brought sun-rise.
The glow of your smile
Brought me close to you,
You’ve spread a lake
From a drop of dew.
This warmth, this love,
This happiness,
I pass to one and all
They call it my greatness.
But I know
From you I’ve borrowed all.
You have become
The subject of praise,
People love my company
I’ve become their craze;
I did nothing but simply
I passed it on,
For those who hate darkness
I give them a lovely dawn.
The credit goes to you
And them, who spread light,
They make life, a life:
Happy, warm and bright.
