Old men

at the gate,

they do  not think

of love any longer.

 Blood is a dirty pressure.

 It is unnerving

these blue eyes

this almond brain

this bloody liver

bean kidneys

that helps

in the little urine

 Old men

at the gate

Thank God for

each hour

24 hours,

 holding on

a little tighter

before the doctor's closed doors

their wet, wet, catheter bags.
