ABOUT THE POET ~
Mutiu Olawuyi, The Jungle Poet (JP), is a teacher, a poet and a literary critic. He studied English/Education at the University of Ilorin (Unilorin), Nigeria. He once worked as the Director of Studies and Webmaster at Mustadol Computer Academy, Ikirun Osun State, and taught English and Literature-in-English at Aforc International School, Achi Enugu State and the Foundation Model College, Ikirun Osun State - where he later became Head of the Department of Arts. He freezed is career in Nigeria in March, 2010 and moved to The Gambia, where he was appointed as English and Literature-in-English teacher at the West African International School, Bakau New Town., He is a member of the International Association of Teachers of English as a Foreign Language (IATEFL), Gambia Teachers Union, Writer's Digest Community, Muse India Space and a volunteer in the 100 Thousand Poets for Change; as well as a member of the Board of Directors, Poems Without Borders (PWB)., He initiated and coordinates the POETRY ZONE on Facebook -where poets from corners of the world post their poems for criticism and critique their fellow poets. He published his first collection of poetry titled: AMERICAN LITERARY LEGENDS AND OTHER POEMS in 2010. His poems have appeared in journals, magazines, e-zines and e-journals like Copperfeild Review in USA, Muse India, Quincouplet Anthology, Liebamour: The Psychedelic Literary Journal (Issue 3), et cetera. And he is currently working on the publication of a new collection. Finally, Mutiu has some of his poems translated to Malayalam, Telugu and Hungarian.
