Friends For Life

Far deep into my past life I have thought
Reaching the part that drew tears out of my eyes
It's the thought of my friends, my old friends
Every one of them who gave distinct meaning to my life
Nothing gladdens me than seeing them playing in my mind
Days of our fight, our quarrel, and days of our reconciliation:
Such memories keep flooding my face with smiles and tears

From the depth of my heart, I miss them all
Of all treasures I have, they were the ones I couldn't buy
Rather, they were send by God to glamour my life

Live far away from me, but my heart remains your home
I'll forever nurse the days of our togetherness
From the day I met you all till every moment I'll miss you
Every one of you, for my sake, shall remain blessed

ABOUT THE POET ~
My name is John Chika Onyeme. I hail from Ndukwa West Local Government Area of Delta State, Nigeria. I am still a student of Federal College of Education, Technical, Asaba, Delta State, where am studing a course, Primary Education Studies., My love for writing is nascent, because being dyslexic mean alot of challenges, especially in writing. But I have been a swot which has led me to what I can do now. Poetry is the only way I express my feelings; about life; the pain of not being able to do what is generally thought simple, and the world dedicated to my eyes only. Invariably, poetry is my source of comfort and solace which am still growing deep in. And am sure this is one place the world would tell me if am a dyslexic poet I think I am.
