Coming and Going

by Ken W Simpson

Ambivalence and light
inevitably
follow the darkness of the night
into days transience and ubiquity.

The primacy of being
is hysterically proclaimed
and routinely revived
from cobwebbed archives.

Cardboard figures
hopelessly entangled
mingle with transients
and invited guests.

Escorted ceremoniously
they pass through a labyrinth
towards the darkness
of the unknown.
