This is the time
When nobody has time
For other than themselves
No let going, no waiting
Has bore the Black Whole of hunger
“Me first” is the principal principle
Intense longing for self-gratification
Wilder than hungry wild fire devouring
Grassy lands of scorching dry season.
Kindness is calculated, return expected
Luring lexicon “free” is a hook,
A strategy of bolstering business
Stories of insecurities, whether propagated or real
Are highlighted and sold
in a competitive cost,
Everything has a price tag:
Love, devotion, sacrifice.

Narayan Prasad Bhattarai is a poet, lyricist and a short story writer from mountains of Nepal. His literary writings have been published to a few newspapers, literary magazines and anthologies, including The Outlying Voices Alberta, Canada.
