Forget Me?

Atul Chandra Sarkar

I am not
I can stir,
A whirlpool in
The cup of your life,
Making you restive,
To put back memories,
At the bottom
Of your subconscious;
I am a Voice,
Audible in silences,
A Shape,
Discernible in shadows;
A Form,
Visible in chipping plasters;
A Fragrance,
Identifiable in smells;
A Touch,
Perceptible untouched;
I’m Love:
The soulful surge,
The breathless urge,
The honey drips,
Of eager lips;
The nectar sweetened caress,
That puts dreams in eyes,
That drifts to Paradise,
That tightens the grip
And escapes in sighs!
