Maybe I was Not an Angel

The great verbal promises went forth
“I will love you till I breathe my last”
Now I look at you and you’ve lost all worth
Because it is difficult to forget the past
And yes I am no more an angel or maybe I was not an angel

It was deep and there was a twist
It was potent enough to nullify the bond
The news exploded into a mist
Then I cleared and found I was no more strong
I had a vision someone left me, like an angel or maybe I was not an angel

Yes I overlook wrong and I smile whatever is done
I sing from my lung even when everything is gone
But don’t take away my sun and my song
My heart ad my love
When you get the chance, don’t leave me worse than dead because if you do-
No she did and she saw me change from being an angel or maybe I was not an angel

And there was I, naked and empty, eyes opened wide
Looking with wonder at man from the cliff of eternity
If I tried to look closely, he died
And woke up, stripped of all dignity
Then he would ask why nobody told he was an angel
But I came back to life still with no traces of an angel or maybe I was not an angel.
