The Shattered Dream

Surrounded by the sycophants
they ruled
and reigned;
and now the rainbows have
disappeared, leaving
the sky, dull and empty ; roaming
clouds approach
fast, always to be replaced by
new ones
What if those dreams did'n't
come true
and those letters written in blood
grew dry and gray,
leaving all the strivings only to cry
in the wilderness?
Then who were the callers, and
who thus responded ?
