There Is A Voice

listen for the voice, listen again
I am sure it is there, listen, be quiet and listen
it is not like any other voice you have heard
it's that voice that has been mentioned so much
so many times
so often
listen
be still and be quiet
ever so quiet

it is not like the wind in the trees
it is not like the wind through the leaves
there is no whistling
there is no rush
there are no particles being disturbed
just quiet , be quiet and listen
it is like a whisper
like a mist of dew falling on paper

so quiet , so very quiet

I curse the hissing in my ears
the blood rushing in my ears
I listen
I listen
shhhhhhhhh

it speaks to me
I am sure it is speaking
are they words I know
