The Graeae

Yet another set
of women in triplicate…
They share an eye and a tooth between them —
a capacity the well-run modern state
might wish for many of us.
And what are these women doing?
They are creating
a history of the world.
The facts take them a long time to digest,
and it is a strain writing by a single candle,
with a single eye,
but they have three minds,
each of them razor-sharp,
well used to remembering, anticipating,
the smallest light in any darkness.
