You Showed Me How Good a Man Could Be, and then You Left Me

I had become numb, couldn’t feel anymore.
Felt I had no worth, lost in the feeling of being sore.
I didn’t know what “precious” felt like.
My life was fill of bitterness and spite.

I felt special just with the way you called my name.
I read your love in every look we shared.
I felt selected with the way you talked of me.
You showed me how good a man can be,
And then you left me.

You turned my life around, helped me get a new start.
You didn’t try to, but you captured my heart.
Made me feel like a princess, treated me like a queen.
Yet we were buddies, it was all so good for me.

I felt special just with the way you called my name.
I read your love in every look we shared.
I felt selected with the way you talked of me.
You showed me how good a man can be,
And then you left me.

Why did you have to come if you weren’t going to stay?
You helped me get my life right, but must I proceed this way?
Living my life loving one who will never love me in return?
I should be grateful, you gave me help and your concern.

I felt special just with the way you called my name.
I read your love in every look we shared.
I felt selected with the way you talked of me.
You showed me how good a man can be,
And then you left me.
