Galactic Glow

We stood together

Squinting at Saturn through the tube

Her voice once again resonating

With the beat of my heart

It had been months

She smelled so good

Not purfumey

Not false

But like life

The warm summer evening

With only enough light to marvel at her

Such big brown eyes

Such perfect dainty wrists

Saturn had nothing on her

I wanted to tell her

But others were close

Who cared about us each

Venus will be around someday soon

Maybe then I thought

How appropriate
