The Morning After

Hello.
How are you?
How am I?
I don't know. I'm not who I was.
She died sometime in the night. I didn't know 'til morning.
They tried to wake me but I couldn't say goodbye.
How am I?
I am different.
And feel like dying still.

ABOUT THE POET ~
Jessica has always found poetry, and writing in general, to be her preferred way of working through difficult emotions and life changes. Her works have thus been heavily influenced by the death of her father when she was 18. She's now working on how to write about other things less tinged by tragedy with encouragement of her poetry club.
