Why, my wife?

In your dog years I barked with you
I saw you when you had only one pair of broke down pants
Now you don't remember the pretty smile I once had
I thought I was your diamond and you needed no gold
I cry in despair that life is not fair

All is lost and its sweetness has withered
True as they say that sometimes it lasts while at times it hurts
But why in this manner my love
That I have become a total stranger
What about our dog years? Are they forgotten?
