Aerosmith is an American rock band from Boston, Massachusetts. Formed in 1970, its members are sometimes referred to as "The Bad Boys of Boston." Their hard rock style, typical of the 1970s, rooted in the blues, also came to incorporate elements of pop, metal, and rhythm and blues, and has inspired many subsequent rock and metal artists.The band members have had 21 Top 40 hits on the Billboard Hot 100 and nine No. 1 hits on the Billboard Mainstream Rock chart. They have also won four Grammy Awards and ten MTV Video Music Awards (they ranked first in the category). They were inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2001 and were ranked 57th on Rolling Stone magazine's 100 Greatest Artists of All Time in 2005.
