About Bee Gees
The Bee Gees are an Australian-British pop band from Brisbane, Queensland, Australia. They were formed in 1958 by three of the Gibb brothers, originally from Douglas, Isle of Man, in the United Kingdom: Barry and the (fraternal) twins Robin and Maurice, initially joined by a guitarist (Vince Melouney) and a drummer (Colin Petersen, later Geoff Brigford), all Australians. The band's total record sales over their entire career are estimated at 220 million, making them one of the world's best-selling artists.Over the course of their forty-year career, three distinct periods of success can be distinguished. The first was the British pop era from the late 1960s to 1973, with songs such as Massachusetts, To Love Somebody, and I Started a Joke, during which Robin and Barry were the band's frontmen. The second is that of the disco wave from 1975 to 1979, with songs like Stayin' Alive, How Deep Is Your Love, Night Fever or Tragedy, corresponds to the media and commercial explosion of the trio.
