Eminem (often stylized as EMINƎM), born Marshall Bruce Mathers III (born October 17, 1972 in Saint Joseph, Missouri), is an American rapper, songwriter, producer, and actor. He is credited with popularizing hip-hop among the middle and upper classes in the United States and is critically acclaimed as one of the greatest rappers of all time. In his solo career, he is also a former member of the group D12, of which he co-founded, and forms the duo Bad Meets Evil with Royce da 5'9. He was also a member of a group called Soul Intent in his youth, and then temporarily joined the group Outsidaz in the second half of the 1990s.Eminem has sold over 227.5 million records in the United States alone, making him one of the best-selling artists. He is also the best-selling artist in the United States since the beginning of the 21st century.
