Jelly Roll, stage name of Jason DeFord, born December 4, 1984 in Nashville (Tennessee), is an American singer, rapper, singer-songwriter and musician. During his childhood, he wrote poems, then began to rap. Although his mother listened to outlaw country, he was not yet interested in this music. According to him, he mainly listened to rap from Nashville and Memphis, including rappers Haystak, Kool Daddy Fresh, Three 6 Mafia, 8Ball and MJG and Yo Gotti.
