About New Found Glory
New Found Glory is an American pop punk band from Coral Springs, Florida. Formed in 1997, the band is now based in California. The band currently consists of Jordan Pundik (vocals), Chad Gilbert (lead guitar, backing vocals), Ian Grushka (bass), and Cyrus Bolooki (drums). Guitarist and lyricist Steve Klein left the band in 2013, citing “personal differences.”In 1999, a first LP, Nothing Gold Can Stay with Hit or Miss, was released, quickly followed by an EP, From the Screen to Your Stereo. The group toured the American East Coast, and managed to sell the EP successfully. On the strength of these first deliveries, the members landed a contract with the Drive-Thru label, owned by MCA. The album Nothing Gold Can Stay (1999) followed.
With their second album New Found Glory (2000), they reached number one on the Billboard Heatseekers chart and spent 21 weeks on the Billboard 200. The album also marked the band's debut under the simple name Nw Found Glory, without the A. It was certified gold by the RIAA.
The single from their fourth album, “All Downhill from Here,” reached number 11 on the Rock Chart before the release of Catalyst (2004). The album itself reached number three on the Billboard 200, with first-week sales of 146,000 copies. The heavier style, which includes elements of heavy metal and new wave, led the trade press to compare New Found Glory to other popular bands.
