Roderick David Stewart, known as Rod Stewart, born January 10, 1945, in London, England, is a British singer-songwriter. A key figure in British rock almost since its inception, Rod Stewart was a member of the future Kinks, Fleetwood Mac, and Rolling Stones, but he didn't achieve true success until 1967 with the Jeff Beck Group, and later with The Faces, for which he was the lead singer.Stewart is one of the world's best-selling artists, with estimated sales of 100 million records, and has achieved numerous successes in his solo career, notably with the songs Sailing (1975) and Da Ya Think I'm Sexy? (1978). He has had ten number-one albums and thirty-one Top 10 singles in the UK, six of which reached number one. In the United States, Stewart has had sixteen Top 10 singles, four of which reached number one on the Billboard Hot 100.br> In 2002, he received the Diamond Award for having sold over 100 million albums. On 11 October 2016, he was knighted by Queen Elizabeth II, and received the accolade from Prince William, Duke of Cambridge, creating him Sir Roderick David Stewart.
