About Wilson Phillips

Wilson Phillips is an American pop group from Los Angeles consisting of Carnie Wilson, Wendy Wilson, and Chynna Phillips. In 1990, their self-titled album sold over 10 million copies worldwide, including three number-one singles on the Billboard Hot 100, making them the best-selling female group of the time. In 1990, the group won the Billboard Music Award for Song of the Year for “Hold On,” in addition to being nominated for four Grammy Awards and two American Music Awards.
The Wilson and Phillips sisters grew up together in Southern California in the 1970s and 1980s. The three shared a love of music and songwriting, developing their own style of vocal harmony. In 1989, the trio signed with SBK Records. The group is also known for being the daughters of prominent musicians; the Wilsons are the daughters of Brian Wilson of the Beach Boys, while the Phillips parents are John Phillips and Michelle Phillips of The Mamas & the Papas. In 2011, they appeared in the wedding scene of the film Bridesmaids.
