If we understood that we are sand

If we understood that we are sand
we would firmly shut the windows and the doors
in order to avoid being dismembered by the wind.
Then we would roll around on the beach
on sunny days
in order to patch the holes in the body;
we would happily merge into every container
in order to steal its shape and its smells.
