Structure

by Drora Matlofsky

There has to be order in my madness
Or who knows what might happen?
The pen can't go off who knows where
And rhymes are strictly forbidden.

Or who knows what will happen
To my wild, untamed pen?
And rhymes are strictly forbidden.
How can I give myself structure?

To my wild, untamed pen
I will order to write a pantoum.
How can I give myself structure?
I will write according to numbers.

Line four is repeated in line seven,
(There has to be order in madness.)
Line eight becomes line eleven.
The pen can't go off who knows where.
