The Wedding At Dawn

Into the new year,
Early hours as the day dawns;
As the morning star rises, my heart thrills
At the dense starry sky.

Trillion eyes wink,
Beck to spring, to leap like an eagle;
To scale the void, glide and sparkle
In the galactic halo.

Cheers! Cheers!
A million voices! Lifting croon—
Shepherd's call to mountain of roses,
To dewed green pastures.

A look around;
The sun rays upon the earth to rouse
Wilting weeds spelled by a drought
As in the days of Noah!

Down the drive,
A horse, decked in purple is led in bridal trot,
Ahead of two virgins in pink,
A pair of rings in a bouquet.

Up the sky,
Eyes wink, voices croon; the day
Draws near. The great dawn!
The blast in the blue!
