by Dawn Lanuza
And all I wanted was someone to tap
like in one of those games I played as a child
I didn’t even need a grand gesture
I just wanted to
Feel a pulse to dance along to,
some skin to touch,
a warmth to embody
before I lift my hand
See the pressure roll off
watch it travel to abled arms
feel it say,
Don’t worry, I’ve got your back.
