If He dissolve-then-there is nothing

by Emily Dickinson

Emily Dickinson

If He dissolve-then-there is nothing-more-
Eclipse-at Midnight-
It was dark-before-
Sunset-at Easter-
Blindness-on the Dawn-
Faint Star of Bethlehem-
Gone down!

Would but some God-inform Him-
Or it be too late!
Say-that the pulse just lisps-
The Chariots wait-

Say-that a little life-for His-
Is leaking-red-
His little Spaniel-tell Him!
Will He heed?
