Yes

by Erin Cowart

The sun, the moon and the whole earth
seem to be inviting us in today
They are mysterious hosts
With a million more questions than answers
If you try to understand
you will miss the point

You cannot understand a field of wildflowers
or the singing of the birds at dawn

They only are

No why, or how, or when or how many
Only yes
You sing and so do I

ABOUT THE POET ~
I am a new poet and consider myself an ordinary person who sees the world in extraordinary ways. My poetry strives to make sense of the senseless and cruel in the world and point out some of the failings of society. I love to write about social, political and environmental issues and try to shine a light on the dark places that most people try to ignore.
