Heavyweights

by Matthew McConaughey

dangerously honest and intimidatingly true,
when they say no we say please,
when they say uh oh we say human.

what we got's not sold over the countertop,
there's nothing generic about our grade,
more than just our fault, it's how we're made.

how arrogant it would be to say we shouldn't,
or cry uncle that we're already done,
when what is read is what we wrote,
it's game over, we won.

it's scary stuff this believing,
mouth guard recommended, blood will be drawn,
committed to the life of us,
without insurance of the pawn.

it's gonna take all the courage we can must,
to give the credit where it's just,
and the grace to see each other in ourselves.
