The Lioness

by Michael Everett Jr

She lies in her bed exhausted, not from work or days errand.
She lacks not a passion, or practice temperance.
She dreams not of a knight but a companion, a friend.
She is fierce and strong and bold like a lioness.
She need not be tamed, or a master require.
Yet folly be to those who's courage match not their desire.
