Vita at the Fountain

by Robert Lloyd Jaffe

Forgiveness pulls you
the angry way
you trip over the cat
yelling clean up your room
and why didn’t you ask
how my day was?
Forgiveness pulls me
why do you think
you own me
is it because you
own my love?
Oh, the hopes
I have
for mountains unclimbed
and seas uncrossed?
god, how that sky today
must taste.
Your beautiful
little glance
in the fountain
so cold,
stamps on my heart
with little feet
until I only have forgiveness left
in front of love so bold.

ABOUT THE POET ~
I am an observer and listener of the music of life. Where I find cadence, I find my interest and passion directed. It can be sound, light, smell, or purely an experience of thought. The sky, the sea, the mountains, and the machines that allow me to explore those places draw my attention, and give me serenity.
