THE BLEEDING HAND; OR THE SPRIG OF EGLANTINE GIVEN TO A MAID

by Robert Herrick

Robert Herrick

Which, though sweet unto your smell,
Yet the fretful briar will tell,
He who plucks the sweets, shall prove
Many thorns to be in love.
