Writing Time

by Drora Matlofsky

Writing time.
I must get comfortable
and let nothing interfere.
Shall I open the window
or turn the heat on?
A shawl and warm socks,
A good chair.
Clear up the table,
don't forget tissues and reading glasses.
Plug the phone in.
I need a cup of tea.
Let's see if the milk's still good.
A biscuit with the tea.
There, I have everything.
I am ready.

... Oh, forgot pen and paper!
