Extreme Weather

by Elyse May

Empty porch
Light is all that's on
Sprinklers turn on
They are starting to sing a song
Playing my name
As the palm trees are across from my face
This is my comfortable place
The pool lights up blue
The boy on the bike looks out of place
Riding too fast I could barely see his face
Wondering where I'm going to go next
Realizing now this place is the best
I stare into outer space and think of how long I have been away from home
I don't want to feel alone
When I hear your voices on the phone
I feel close away from the unknown
