About Clarence Major
Clarence Major, born December 31, 1936 in Atlanta, is an American poet, painter and novelist. He served in the U.S. Air Force from 1955 to 1957. He founded the literary journal Coercion Review in 1958 and published the Dictionary of Afro-American Slang and the poetry collection Swallow the Lake in 1970, which won the National Council on the Arts Award.Browse all poems and texts published on Clarence Major
