About Jeanie Thompson
Jeanie Thompson is an American poet author of several poetry books, including The Myth of Water: Poems from the Life of Helen Keller, The Seasons Bear Us, White for Harvest: New and Selected Poems, Witness, Litany for a Vanishing Landscape, How to Enter the River, and Lotus and Psalm. Her poems has been extensively published in various journals and anthologies over the years, such as Whatever Remembers Us, High Horse, Working the Dirt, The Best of Crazyhorse, and most recently, The Southern Poetry Anthology: Volume X: Alabama, published by Texas Review Press. From 1993 to 2023, Jeanie served as the director of The Alabama Writers' Forum, a collaborative initiative of the Alabama State Council on the Arts. This Forum is dedicated to promoting writers and the craft of writing, while also being a staunch advocate for literary arts education.
