About Sadie McCarney
Sadie McCarney is a Canadian poet author of Head War who won the 2021 Oscar Wilde Award for Work Celebrating Non-Conformity at the Island Fringe Festival. It has now been transformed into a short film, to educate and enlighten diverse audiences about the realities of living (and thriving!) with mental illness. Her full-length books are Live Ones (University of Regina Press, 2019; tall-lighthouse uk, 2020), Your Therapist Says It's Magical Thinking (ECW Press, 2023; winner of the 2024 Prince Edward Island Book Award in Poetry and shortlisted for the J.M. Abraham Atlantic Poetry Award), and The Bright Afters (ECW Press, forthcoming in 2026).
