About Ted Kooser
Ted Kooser (born April 25, 1939 in Ames, Iowa) is an American poet and the 13th Poet Laureate of the United States. Kooser studied at Iowa State University (B.A. 1962) and then transferred to the University of Nebraska (M.A. 1968). He has published over twenty-five collections of poetry since 1969. In 2004, he was the Poet Laureate of the Library of Congress, and in 2005. Donald Hall succeeded him in June 2006. He won the Pulitzer Prize for Poetry for his collection Delights and Shadows. He is married to Kathleen Rutledge, the former editor of the Lincoln Journal-Star.
