About Valerio Magrelli
Valerio Magrelli was born in 1957. From his first collection, Ora serrata retinae, he established himself as a talented and profound poet. His next collection, Nature e venature, received the prestigious Viareggio Prize in 1987. In 2003, he began a prose quadrilogy that includes Nel condominio di carne (The Condom of Meat), La Vicevita (The Vicevital Life), Addio al calcio (The Addition to Calcio), and Geologia di un padre (The Geologia of a Father).An eclectic and remarkable translator, he received the National Prize in 1996, awarded by the President of the Republic. In 2003, his entire body of work was recognized with the Feltrinelli Prize. His latest collection, Sangue amaro, was published in 2014. He won the Bagutta Prize in 2014 for Geologia di un padre.
