John James

About John James

John James is an American poet, author of The Milk Hours (Milkweed, 2019), selected by Henri Cole for the Max Ritvo Poetry Prizeas well as two chapbooks: Chthonic, winner of the 2014 CutBank Chapbook Prize, and Winter, Glossolalia, forthcoming in 2022 from Black Spring Press Group. His poems, essays, and interviews appear in Boston Review, Kenyon Review, BOMB, Lit Hub, Gulf Coast, Best American Poetry 2017, and elsewhere. He lives in California, where he is pursuing a PhD in English and Critical Theory at UC Berkeley.
