About Lorna Crozier
Lorna Crozier (born May 24, 1948 in Swift Current, Saskatchewan) is a Canadian poet and chair of the Department of Writing at the University of Victoria. She is the author of fifteen books and was appointed an Officer of the Order of Canada in 2011. She is credited as Lorna Uher on some of her earlier books. Crozier is the author of fifteen books, generally focusing on human relationships, the natural world, language, memory, and perception. With her partner Patrick Lane, she co-wrote No Longer Two People (1979) and co-edited Breathing Fire: Canada's New Poets (1995) and Breathing Fire 2 (2004).Her awards include the Governor General's Award in 1992, the Canadian Author's Association Prize for Poetry, the National Magazine Award, and first prize in the CBC National Literary Competition. In 2009, she was made a Fellow of the Royal Society of Canada, and in 2011, Crozier was made an Officer of the Order of Canada. She published her memoir, Through the Garden: A Love Story (with Cats), in 2020.
