About Mara Bergman
Mara Bergman is an American poet, children's author and editor born in Bronx, New York, and now living in Kent, England. She published her first poetry collection, The Tailor’s Three Sons and Other New York Poems, which won the Mslexia Poetry Pamphlet Competition in 2015. Crossing Into Tamil Nadu won a Templar Quarterly Poetry Prize and was published in 2016. Her awards include the BookTrust Early Years Award and the Stockport Prize. Her first full collection, The Disappearing Room, was published in 2018 by Arc Publications. She is is also the author of more than twenty books for young children.
